Our Pastor

The Reverend Ronald Gantt is a native of Comer, Georgia. He was born and raised in a Christian home. In 1978, he accepted Jesus Christ after being on the “Mourner’s Bench”. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1980 at Holly Creek Baptist Church in Comer, Georgia (Madison County). In 1982, he was licensed to preach the Gospel. After demonstrating a sincere love for God, and commitment to the growth and development of God’s people, he was ordained in 1984.

Reverend Gantt received his Associate Ministry Degree from Christian College of Georgia in 1987, a Certificate of Theology from Carver Bible College, took addition course at Toccoa Falls College, and is presently taking course from Andersonville Baptist Seminary towards Doctorate Degree in Biblical Studies, he has a Pastor’s Alternative Teacher Certification from SSPB, and received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Saint Luke Evangelical School of Biblical Studies (October 16, 2002).

Up until 1989, he has done local and international missionary work through Sharing and Caring Outreach Ministry 501 (C) (3) (Founder), and a member of the Jamaica for Jesus Missionary Team, where he had the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land.   In 1989, he was called to the Colbert Grove Baptist Church in Colbert, Georgia and Hurricane Grove Baptist Church in Martin, Georgia as the church’s Pastor. Reverend Gantt is married to the lovely Janie Heard and is also the proud father of Rhonda Janese. After serving those two churches respectively for 14 years, in 2003, he began serving as Pastor of the Maple Spring Baptist Church in Dewy Rose, Georgia.

He is the past Dean of the Savannah River Congress of Christian of Education and the past President of the Union Missionary Congress of Christian Education. Currently, he serves on the faculty as well as a Certified Instructor of the Congress of Christian Education, S.W.A.T Director for the Eighth District, advisor and teacher for Union Congress Christian Education and Advisory.

He is retired from Athens Transit System in Athens, Georgia as an Informational Supervisor. He is a preacher, teacher and lecturer with a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. His time is filled with the joy of his home, the labor of his calling, and the many involvements throughout the Communities, Local, State, and National.
